What does my gift support?
Ticket sales cover merely 45% of the total costs of operating and maintaining The Grand. Your gift makes up part of the remaining 55%. It supports exceptional local entertainment, arts education, diverse community programming, and historical preservation of one of the great architectural gems of the United States. When you support The Grand Opera House, you become a part of the vibrant renaissance of Wilmington.


How much of my gift is tax-deductible?
We are pleased to offer Friends benefits in appreciation for your generous gifts. Click here for more information on the value of your benefits. For your exact tax-deductibility, please refer to the gift acknowledgement letter that you will receive shortly after making your contribution (e-mail for internet gifts).


What if I do not want to receive Friends benefits?
When you waive your Friends benefits, your entire gift is directed to making a difference at The Grand.  Indicate with your gift that you do not wish to receive benefits, making your gift fully tax-deductible. You can also contact Ivy Lane in the Development Office at 302.658.7897 ext. 3302 or ilane@grandopera.org to request no benefits.


What if my name has an error or is missing from the donor listings in the program book and/or lobby boards?
The Grand Opera House team strives to makes every effort to maintain accurate donor listings to show our appreciation for making a difference. If you find an omission or error in your listing, contact Danny Smith in the Development Office at 302.658.7897 ext. 3301 or dsmith@grandopera.org.


When and how can I schedule a private tour of The Grand?
As a benefit of your gift, donors of $150 or more (Patron level and above) are entitled to private tours of The Grand. You will receive special invitations to scheduled tour events. For your convenience, tours are also available by request. Contact the Development Office at 302.658.7897 for more information.


What is The Grand Season Preview Party?
Packed with exciting audio and visual clips of the upcoming season and a light reception to follow, the Season Preview Party is an exclusive event for donors of $150 or more (Patron level and above). The event will be scheduled in conjunction with the announcement of the new season. Invitations will be sent by mail and it is an event you do not want to miss!


How will I be informed of when artist meet and greet events take place?
Meet and greet events are scheduled with select artists subject to their approval and availability. If you are a donor of $365 or more (Solo level and above) and are holding tickets to a performance in which a meet and greet is scheduled, you will be personally invited before the performance by the development team.
